Constitution
• Especially disease children or women with tubercular diathesis ( predisposes individuals to respiratory diseases, general weakness, and other chronic conditions or family history of tuberculosis )

Adapted to light hair, lax
fibre, fair complexion (Brom.).

• Fair complexion, light hair , lax fibre ( loose muscle tone)

General Modality:-

• Agg : after sleep , sleeps into { lach }
• Agg : after eating sweet things { sore throat}
• Agg : before midnight { croup}
• Agg : during inspiration { croup }
• Amel : while eating or drinking warm things { cough}

SOA :-

Glands indurations :  goitre

Muscous Membrane: Dryness

Mind :-

Whenever I’m excited this dry cough starts or increases .

Neck :- 

Goitre : Thyroid glands swollen even with chin; Goitre with suffocative paroxysms at
night. Swelling and induration of glands; goitre (Brom.).

Respiratory affection:-

Sore throat < after eating sweet things.

Chest :- Great dryness of mucous membranes of air passages—throat, larynx,trachea, bronchi—“dry as a horn..

Cough: Dry, barking, croupy; rasping, ringing, wheezing, whistling;
everything is perfectly dry, no mucus rale.

Cough: Dry, sibilant, like a saw driven through a pine board;

Cough agg :  sweets, cold drink;

Cough agg smoking,

Cough agg lying with head low,

Cough agg dry cold winds

Cough agg  reading, singing, talking, swallowing;

Cough better While Eating or drinking warm things.

Croup: Anxious, wheezing,  < before midnight  < during inspiration

Cardiac affection:- Angina pectoris ; Valvular insufficiency

• Violent Palpitations with contracting pain
• Palpitations , Agg After midnight
• gasping respiration , Awaken suddenly after midnight with a fright & great anxiety Suffocating as if he had to breath through the sponge
• Heat , faintness, suffocation, anxiety, sweat
• Usually before or during menses in female

Male Reproductive System :-

If you get any patient with the history of suppressed gonorrhoea ( rare in today’s era ) or history of mal.treated orchitis.Currently a complaint of swollen, bruised, squeezed testicles or painful swollen spermatic cord.

• Spongia follows well:

After, Acon ( cough agg while expiration) ., Hep ( cough agg before morning) ., in cough and croup when dryness prevails;

After Spong.when mucus commences to rattle  Hep.,

• Compare: Arn., Caust., Iod., Lach., Nux-m., sputa loosened but must be swallowed again.
