Vipera ( less frequent use)

• Generalities
• Sudden onset + Left sided affection + bleeding tendency+ HTN + Menopausal age + milk intolerance  + bursting sensation + ascending complaint+
• Bursting (fullness sensation) in blood vessels, esp. Very unbearable pain. ( Piles, varicose veins, Hypertension, varicose ulcer)
• Agg. by hanging down of the limbs; must sit up or lie down with elevated parts (calf muscle pain, acute phlebitis).
• Hemorrhagic tendency even chronic epistaxis, haematuria, PPH , abortion etc
•  
• Varicose veins and ulcers with the characteristic modality.
• Persistent oedema with tendency to ulcers (of legs); with septic conditions following.{ Hypertension+ ulcer+ cellulitis }
• Haemorrhage red, black, dark clots, excessive bleeding prostration and faintness.
•  
• Black, petechial spots all over body; blisters.
•  
• Symptoms return annually for years.
•  
• Paralysis, ascending ( GBS): Poliomyelitis. ; paraplegia ; multiple neuritis.( Eg : GBS, Parkinson disease, chronic smoker neuralgia )
• Child Development Arrested ( GDD,Autism, Birth asphyxia,MR )
• Sleep – Restless; must change position.
• Sleepiness with inability to sleep.
• Exhausting dreams
• Peculiar, uncommon, grand characteristics
• – Vertigo with epistaxis, loss of vision and anxiety.
• – Paralysis of lids, with dim vision (left) or lost (or).
• Scorbutic line on gums.
• Tongue moist on edges with thirst for cold drinks.
• Diarrhoea, green substances; yellow, viscid fluid; fetid; black.
• Involuntary urine, dark yellow (jaundice).
• Haematuria.
• Objective
• Tongue swollen, protruding;
• speech difficult.
• Unbearable BURSTING pain in limbs amel. only by elevating them.
• Varicose veins, acute phlebitis.
• Ascending paraplegia of lower extremities.
• Face
• Red or pale.
• Hippocratic, with cold sweat on forehead.
• Lips blue, tongue swollen, livid; protruding.
• Throat
• Swelling like a goiter.
• Oedema of glottis.
• Viscid mucus adheres to pharynx ( diphtheria, pharyngitis, laryngitis)
•  Chest :-
•  
• Breathing ceased suddenly, heart stopped.
•  
• Violent effort to breathe and swallow.
•  
• Dragging pains in chest; he tears his clothes, becomes faint. ( Acute MI ,Pulm Embolism)
• Stomach
• Vomiting after milk with shivering
• Coldness of the body with colic.
• Slow digestion.
• Vomiting a mass of roundworms.
• Abdomen
•  
• Excruciating pain in epigastrium, agg. by pressure.
•  
• Violent pain in enlarged liver, extending to shoulder and jaundice with fever.
• Extremities
• Stitches in finger tips after a bite on the arm. (Never well since bite)
• Shuffling gait caused by paralysis, followed by ulcers.
• Fullness and unbearable pain as if a limb would burst; must keep parts elevated; with feet high { old age , dorpsical condition)
• Cramps in or blueness of lower limbs.
• Varicose veins and acute phle; bitis.
• Skin : Ulcer; gangrene; boils. Carbuncles, with BURSTING sensation.
• Peeling off in large plates.
• Lymphangioma.
• Gangrene with crawling in soles and palms.
• Fever : Heat with restlessness, delirium, then shivering. Burning heat rising from heel to tongue, with longing for cold application though skin is cold to touch.
• A/F : causation  : Unidentified septic condition of blood i.e Septicaemia
• Modalities :-
  • Agg. :- Letting the affected limbs hang down. ; Cold, yearly ;Touch
  • Amel :- only by elevating limb
• Mind
• delirium with vomiting, alternates with stupor; with thirst for water.
•  Loss of mental functions.

• Protocol:-
• Hemorrhagic tendency + bleeding + fullness sensation : bursting headache + Varicose vein: Vipea
• Old age + Varicose veins, Piles , Varicose ulcer + bleeding + Hypertension + limbs black hemorrhagic  spots + h/o left nose epistaxis + fullness sensation in abdomen + involuntary urination : Vipera
• Child + GDD + sleepiness but can’t sleep + exhaust due to dream + Restlessness + bleeding history: Vipera
• Old age + loss of vision + Vertigo + headache + h/o epistaxis: vipera
• During Dentition+ teething complaint+ Child + Diarrhea+ green + involuntary urine + blood in urine + GDD : vipera
• Post hysterectomy or Menopausal age after + Hypertension + bleeding+ loss of urine control+ left side cataract ( dimness of vision) h/o hemorrhage eg epistaxis or menorrhagia or hematuria : vipera
• Difficult speech+ tongue protruding tongue+ h/o epistaxis+ fullness in head + delayed developmen+ left sided headache: Vipera
• ICU + left sided Varicose ulcer + septic condition+ blood in urine + cyanosis: vipera
• ICU+ green diarrhea + cyanosis+ cold sweat forehead ( vipera ,camph)
• 55/male + left side goitre + bursting pain + fullness sensation + bleeding history : Vipera
• Praistic infection : kala azar + liver affection+ hepatomegaly+ jaundice: Vipera.
• Comatose condition.
• Varicose ulcer + fullness in left leg + calf muscle pain + agg hanging down+ bursting pain : Vipera .
• Note :-
• If lach failed then give vipera
• Hemorrhagic tendency: easily bleeding: epistaxis, metrorrhagia,PPH, abortion, hematuria etc after that profound weakness…think of Vipera.
