We Serve Where MBBS Doctors Don’t β€” Why Is the Government Stopping Us?

πŸ›‘ PRESS NOTE : 12 July 2025

“We Serve Where MBBS Doctors Don’t β€” Why Is the Government Stopping Us?”

For 10 years, over 9,000 BHMS doctors in Maharashtra completed the CCMP course β€” a government-approved, university-run training that teaches them how to use modern medicines safely and legally. They studied under MBBS/MD professors in recognized colleges. They passed exams. They followed the law. But they are still not allowed to register.

On 30 June 2025, the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) finally issued a notice to start registering CCMP-qualified doctors. No court has ever stayed this. The law supports it. The FDA supports it. The people in villages and tribal areas need it. But on 10 July night, the Chief Minister met IMA leaders behind closed doors. Next morning, on 11 July, MMC was ordered to pause registration, after IMA threatened strike and boycott.

Let that sink in:
βœ… Government-approved course
βœ… Taught by MBBS professors
βœ… No court stay
βœ… Legally recognized since 2014
❌ Still not allowed to register β€” just because one group feels insecure

Why It Matters

We are not asking to replace MBBS doctors. We are not claiming to be equal.
But when MBBS doctors don’t go to rural clinics, PHCs, or tribal areas β€” we do.
We treat fevers, infections, injuries, pregnancies, emergencies β€” often with no backup, no ambulance, and no support.
People don’t ask for degrees β€” they ask for help.
And we’re trained and willing to give it.

A 2018 government study showed:
πŸ“Š Before CCMP: 12% passed in safe prescribing
πŸ“Š After CCMP: 86% passed
That’s not crosspathy β€” that’s better healthcare.

Our Questions to the Government

1. Why did MMC delay CCMP registration for 10 years without action?

2. Why is the process stopped again now β€” even after legal clearance?

3. Why does one meeting with IMA carry more weight than 9,000 doctors and lakhs of rural patients?

Our Appeal to the Public & Media

This is not just a doctors’ issue β€” this is your issue.
If you live in a village or small town, ask yourself:
Who is available when the MBBS post is vacant?
Who gives emergency injections, drip, medicines when your child is sick?
Who reaches where no ambulance comes?

It’s us β€” the BHMS + CCMP doctors.
We are not illegal. We are not unsafe. We are not untrained.
We are just being blocked β€” for politics.

We Demand

βœ” Immediate restart of CCMP registration by MMC
βœ” Equal BHMS representation in any government committee
βœ” End to pressure politics in healthcare decisions

Stop punishing doctors who followed the law.
Start supporting doctors who go where no one else does.
